Bundled Energy

The Bundesverband Neuer Energieanbieter (Federal Association of New Energy Suppliers, bne) promotes interests which are otherwise not represented on the German energy markets: the interests of new suppliers, distributors and producers in genuine, functioning competition under a strong regulatory authority!

The bne is a dynamic lobby for the interests of suppliers, dealers and producers on the German electricity and gas markets. This is where new electricity and gas companies are organised which predominately use third parties’ networks to supply their customers. The interests of members who are building or planning new power plants in Germany form our second main focus.

The bne supports the positions of these electricity and gas suppliers and producers in Germany with consistent emphasis on competition. By bundling their interests in a professional lobby, we make it impossible for political decision makers to ignore the concerns of the new participants on the market any longer: The bne makes sure that they are heard!

History

The bne was founded in Berlin on 25 September 2002 and initially consisted of nine members. The event that precipitated its establishment was the enactment of the 2002/2003 Energy Law Amendment, which the newcomers at that time were unable to participate in deciding on. Today, the bne is a successful industrial association with 30 members from Germany and other countries in Europe who are committed to ensuring effective competition on the German energy markets.
